Can someone please recommend a good seafood restaurant (Goan, Konkani or Mangalorean) in the Fort / Colaba / Fountain area? Quality of food is the most important criterion.

Also looking for a good Gujarati or Parsi thali place.

PS. I have tried and was underwhelmed with Trishna (overpriced with mediocre food) and Mahesh Lunch Home (OK prices but pedestrian food)

Konkan Cafe at Taj President, Cuffe Parade (Vivanta now). You will pay five star rates, but the food is really good- or should I say was, since I don't eat meat anymore?

You could try Apoorva near Mumbai Samachar building. Pratap Lunch Home Opp Siddharath College could also be an option.

You just nailed it. This is no nonsense, "Rice-plate-is-ready" style Amin bhai's place. It was a college favorite.

I would suggest Shree Thaker Bhojanalay. Have been there umpteen times and have always been happy. But then, i like Gujarati food. It is probably the best in vegetarian Gujarati thali food.

The original Rajdhani near Crawford market was also chaotic but excellent.
