Where would you be staying in Mumbai?

Most of the places mentioned are in the Fort / Colaba area. Get down at CST and you can walk to most places or get a taxi. CST to Crawford market is around 15 minutes by walk. From there take a taxi to Flora Fountain. From Flora Fountain take a left for St. Thomas Church and Horniman Circle. Go straight for Jehangir Art Gallery, Museum and Gateway of India. From Gateway take a taxi to Hanging Garden, Kamla Nehru Park.

If you stay some where near the airport check for Mumbai Darshan bus by Neeta Travels.

Thanks Aarosh for reply .
We will stay at Prabhadevi Area . Can we get Neeta travels bus from there for Mumbai Darshan ?
I have heard there is huge traffic jam in Mumbai . Taxi may be very expensive . Am I right ? One more query ---- is lokmanyo tilak terminus is near to prabhadevi area ?Or CST is nearer ?

Both the stations will be equidistant from Prabhadevi. I think the travels bus will pass through Bandra. You will have to travel through Bandra to board the bus.

From Prabhadevi you can also take a BEST bus to go towards CST / Flora Fountain.

Kaberi - maybe too late, you can also take the local train to CST, go to Dadar station (less than 10mins by taxi) and then take any train - you'll get one leaving at almost every 5 - 8 mins

This is the best way - much faster than the bus, which trust me as I have done it, will take way too much time.

HI Aarosh, I'm interested in heritage Catholic Churches in Mumbai. So far I've been thinking of Gloria church in Byculla, Mount Mary church in Bandra and Afghan church in Colaba. Anything else worth seeing? Thanks in advance.

This is a list of Catholic churches in Mumbai.

You could also consider St. Thomas Cathedral near Horniman Circle and St. Michael's Church (famous of Novena) in Mahim.

OMG, how to choose from that list? I suppose the oldest and the most beautiful ones have their own pages on Wiki. And thanks for St. Thomas Cathedral, forgot about it.

Maybe you already know Mogra, but just clarifying for anyone else - St Thomas's Cathedral near Horniman Circle is not Catholic. It's Church of North India (CNI) which is a Protestant denomination.

The Basilica of Our Lady of the Mount (Mount Mary Church) and St. Andrew's Church (circa 1575), on Hill Road, Bandra, are Catholic Churches. Both are really lovely.

Thanks, JuliaF, I didn't know.
ViShVa, yes, I've already included Mount Mary Church into my list, but I didn't know about St. Andrew's church, thanks a lot.

Hi Aarosh ,

With all the experience behind you, would you suggest how much time is needed to see and feel the city comfortably ,given we are middle aged, we cant be on move the whole day without break and its not a luxury trip, thanks !!
