Hi, I will be moving to Mumbai next month, together with my girlfriend(Indian, not from Mumbai). We will be staying there at least for a year.

Which neighbourhoods with reasonable rent (our ideal budget is around 20,000 INR pm for rent) would you recommend?
Neither of us will be working, so proximity to work place doesn't come into consideration, but we would like to be in an area where there is some commerce going on, and possibly close to major spots in the city..

Any other advice, and suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Check out grabhouse.com for areas like Bandra, Andheri (W), Jogeshwari (W), Link Road.

Are you looking for a 1 bhk? Also, since you prefer a room near the major spots in the city then I'd recommend checking for homes in Bandra; however, the rent rates are quite high. Check nobroker site for homes for rent in Bandra, Andheri, Parle, Mahim, Worli etc. Though I am guessing you won't get 20k per month budget homes, try your luck

That enquiry was for April 2018. Your advise might help someone else.
