Just arrived in Pune from Australia
With a touch of jetlag I've arrived in Pune to spend the next couple of months on a work project.
I'm an early-30's Australian working in IT, and I couldn't resist adding my rock climbing shoes and harness as I've heard that there's good climbing in the region. So far, since landing today, I've seen a road, a hotel, and my new office, so I'd like to change that ASAP.
I'd also like to look into the possibility of short-term non-hotel accommodation, as a few months in this hotel will be slightly challenging towards the end. Especially as I'm a social person (well, I'm Australian) and I'd like to make the most out of this trip.
I'm excited to meet the locals, but I'd also like to get in touch with the expat community, share similar experiences, get some tips, and have the odd adventure.

Pune is nice. I'm an Indian guy, freelance web designer. Thinking about staying at Pune for a month too. I have a couple of friends over there as possible company. Goa is a big spot for Indian web industry.
I actually want to go to Goa, but Pune is a-night-bus-far from Goa, so seems good for a month.
You could check sites like 99acre.com for apartments. Being a paying guest can be nice too (for myself, I'm considering this option.)
Enjoy Pune!

Welcome to Pune!!!
A few points -
For finding accommodation go through this thread http://www.indiamike.com/india/pune-...-pune-t138918/
I would differ on going to magicbricks or 99acres as the only option. The site is cluttered with agents and you might not find a short term rental here.
Since you are in IT - The 1st thing I suggest is check your companies internal classifieds portal. For rest read the thread.
I have responded to your interest in the adventure activities and ride on the other post in pune meetups.

Also the LAST HIPPY STANDING DOCUMENTARY shouldnt be missed! A good Indie work on Goa. Hello,
I don't know if you are about, but I've found some climbers. There is an international spec wall in Pune http://climbingindia.com/wall-climbi...t-raja-shivaji and there is also a new bouldering wall, look up "Rock Aliens Sport Climbing Gym," on facebook to find their page. I met some local climbers their who are very keen but say it's too hot for outdoor stuff at the moment. I'm suffering from transport issues at the moment, but hope to sort them soon.
