I decided to make another thread, because I think it might be useful for others.

Currently I live in Delhi, Kailash Colony and work in Gurgaon, Sector 21, on Old Delhi Gurgaon Road.

I am paying 10.000 (8.250+expenses) for a small room that I share with 2 other guys. I travel for about 3.5 hours every day to work and back.
Another thing, I also work part-time from home as an online virtual assistant, so wasting time on traffic is a huge waste of money for me.

I did a bit of research and I see that for about 6500 I can get a double sharing PG accommodation with AC, power backup and two meals in Sector 22. Now this sounds much better than 10.000 for triple sharing without meals and traveling for 3.5 hours every day.

What I'm wondering about is, if it's possible to find a single occupancy PG accommodation in Gurgaon? Would this be possible with around 10.000 Rupees?
Should I find a place in Sector 22, or is bus connectivity good enough for me to find another (perhaps better) place?
What is life really like in PG? I was told it is strict, but how strict really? Is it a problem to come back to the room late at night? Is it forbidden to bring a female friend to your room? Are all PGs separately male-female, or are there mixed ones?

I am 26 years old and don't really like having lots of people in my flat, so I don't mind a bit of strictness, but I would also like to enjoy a bit of the night life in Gurgaon. How is the night life here btw.?

Hope this is not too many questions all at once .

Hi Nikola,

You can definately find Single PG acco in gurgaon, esp in sector 22 and sector 23. What i suggest is talking a walk/rickshaw ride in the area, you would find many signs/posters for PG. Mostly PGs will either be Male or Female, very rarely will you find a coed PG (if at all) and really the strictness of the PG varies from one another. While I think coming late would probably be ok, female friends would be a no in most places. But again depends. Happy hunting!

And oh, Bus connectivity within Gurgaon is really bad, you would end up depending on autos who fleece commuters royally

What exactly is wrong with the buses? Are they too packed, are they not on time?
It wouldn't be such a big deal for me to be in a packed bus for 10 minutes if it means some other benefits.
