Hi Everyone

We are moving to Gurgaon, India for Good by March 2014. I have a 9 year Old and a 2.5 year old daughters . I have picked up a job with a Multinational in ggn..

I do have some basic questions

a. I am looking for a 3 BR + SR Apartment - Keeping a budget under 35K. I have never lived on rent and I think it would be a Big issue…Any suggestions ( Company lease can be one of them)
b. I am moving all my furniture etc..but wanted to know if it worth getting the Mattress or is it better to buy in India
c. Biggest concern... I wanted to know how difficult it is to get admission into schools ( I am looking at International schools…except Pathways ( very expensive)
following are the Option -- my Older one cannot write Hindi+ it would be big change for her…
1. Scottish High
2. Lotus Valley
3. Heritage ( my 2.5 year old will turn 3 in March)
4. Please let me know what our the best schools to look for
I have written to some schools but as per them I need to fill up forms and come for Interview…Problem is I cannot come to India before March

Also any other important aspect…to be vary off…Please suggest.

Thanks
Mohit

Mohit, welcome to IndiaMike

Perhaps this company in Gurgaon can help you with relocation to Gurgaon in terms of assistance in locating an apartment near your planned work place and also help in your search for a suitable school for your 9 year old.

Also no harm in contacting this agent for possible rent/lease options in Gurgaon in your budget.

Not being able to write Hindi will not be a problem and slowly your daughter will learn to read and write Hindi but it will help in making play friends and adjusting to the new Gurgaon environment if your daughter can understand and speak some hindi.

I would suggest you to get the mattress and furniture from India only as it would work out cheaper in that way.

For the schools , i can suggest you schools like GD Goenka or DPS. I think they are cheaper than Pathways
