Hi,

I am going to live in Chennai and I am looking for some good places for beauty matters.

Do you have any suggestion concerning a good hair stylist in the city?

I am also looking for a good beauty parlor with waxing services. BTW what's the average price for waxing in Chennai?

Where can I get a good pedi/mani?

I would like to take some sewing/tailoring classes and cooking classes (Indian Food)so do you have any contact for these activities?

Thanks for your help

Feel free do give me other suggestions about activities or good area, shops etc... for women.

Cheers,

My wife said all of them stuck in the stone age

Not like stone caves, the interiors are shining, but modelling is somewhat fifty years old. Yes, Madras is VERY traditional place.

So far there is one exception - hair stylist at Ispahani Center, Nungambakkam.

Thank you for the advise, it sounds promising

I came in Chennai 2 weeks ago for house hunting and I saw a Tony & guy in Express Avenue, may be someone already went there?

Toni and Guy is in EA and in Adyar, and is Rs.500 for a men's haircut, not sure for a woman's style.

Leg waxing (not sure on other kinds) is Rs.300 for both legs at Naturals (iirc)

I've heard this place called Limelight is good for beauty as well. Not sure on that though. (I've had expats and locals recommend)

Oryza on Chamiers road is good. Not so expensive. Legs and arms waxing would cost between 600-800. Hair cut depends on the stylist.. If you want an experienced stylist it would be about 1200.. Hope this helps!
