Hi Mo. This is just a reminder that ads including classified ads are not allowed on Indiamike. But hopefully someone will be able to advise you how and where to look.

Hi Mo,

My husband and I were just in Chennai last week to look for housing as we are moving there in August.
We too are looking for good serviced apartments.

We saw a new block of serviced apartments in MC Nagar run by the Somerset Group, a Singaporean chain. We were told that these were going to be open very soon (was not given an exact date)

We have stayed at Somerset properties in other countries are were pleased with their standards, so we hope their Chennai serviced apartments will be ready by August.

You can contact them on their website here: http://www2.somerset.com/india/chenn...greenways.html

hi Mo Ravat and Blush, you can even look at Star City Serviced Apartments. They have their apartments at three locations. T.Nagar, Nungambakkam near the US Consulate and one on the beach road santhome. Check this link for their website and you may make reservations directly. http://www.starcityhotel.com/ Hope this helps. Raghu

Are any of these serviced apartments family friendly? My wife and 8 year old daughter will be with me for 2 months.

Hi Galanu,

The Somerset properties we've stayed in other countries have been very family friendly. One even specially bought a baby bathtub for my son when I asked for one and they didn't have any. They also usually come with a swimming pool and a children's playground on the property itself. Also, breakfast can be provided everyday.

I don't know what the Chennai Somerset will be like bcos it's not open yet at we haven't stayed there before. But if it will be similar to the others, then it's great for families. If our furniture doesn't arrive before we do, I plan to stay there.
