What is the current status for foreign tourists on being able to make cashless transactions? I want to be able to recharge mobile accounts, and even take advantage of discounts for cashless transactions.

I'm reading about Itzcash, but it looks dicey. I see that ICICI bank has an INR travel card for UK residents only, which doesn't apply to me. Does anyone know if this card can be used to purchase digital cash on any of the platforms?

Also, I'm aware that some people have added money to their airtel wallet, but not all kiosks allow this, and if the SIM becomes invalid, any credit is lost.

Are there any other alternatives that allow foreign credit cards to purchase digital cash?

You might try the PhonePe app. No KYC or Aadhaar required. Not sure what options they offer to fund your account.
It's all part of the adventure of travelling!
