Hello,

I am planning to visit Shillong from 11th Aug to 15th Aug. I have made an itinerary but I am not sure if it is feasible. Please help me out.
I will be traveling in a group of 6 people and we will be staying in Shillong throughout the tour.

Day 1: (11th Aug) From Guwahati take a cab to your apartment. On the way see Umium Lake. Reach your place, have lunch, take rest and go for
local sight-seeing(Cathedral of Mary, Ward's lake...).

Day 2: (12th Aug) Leave at 7am towards Cherapunji. On the way Siyem View Point, Dainthlen falls, Nohkalikai Falls. Trek Double Decker Root Bridge.
Return back to Shillong.

Day 3: (13th Aug) Start from Shillong for Elephant Falls, Seven Sister Falls, Mawsmai Caves, Garden of Caves. Return back to Shillong.

Day 4: (14th Aug) Start from Shillong for Mawlynnong, Dawki, Krangsuri Falls, Tyrshi Falls. Return back to Shillong.

Day 5: (15th Aug) From Shillong leave for Guwahati.

Thank you.

Is it possible to do Dawki and Krangsuri in a single day from Shillong and return back to Shillong?

Dawki and krangshuri in a single day is doable, but you are stretching yourself travelling to and fro from Shillong. Plus with rains, there will always be disruptions and you need to be flexible to allow for those delays. Check out Mawlyngbna and mawphanlur, in case that interests you.

Check out the safety aspects for Dawki, other waterfalls in case there is a risk of flash floods.

I have same dates of travel. On searching through various resources and videos on YouTube. I am pretty sure of following
1. Double Decker bridge will take up whole day- It takes 3 hours one way. In monsoon it will add more time.
2. In monsoon, travelling 80Km may take over 3 hours. Visibility may goes to only few meters on road.

I have cut down Mawlynnong and Dwaki as water will not be transparent and in Mawlynnong , it's only root bridge and village.
I decided to
Day 1: Khasi Heritage Village, Sacred Forest and Shillong city and nearby
Day 2 and Day 3: Cherrapunji Caves and Falls
Nongriat/ Tyrna village Root bridge - Not neccessary double decker , Kynrem falls Mawsmai Cave.
Dai˝thlen Falls-Lyngngai Falls circuit road, lots of falls there.
I don't want to spend the time traveling the not enjoying the leisure time.

I am not decided where to stay in Cherrapunji for a day. I am looking for calm place and in nature. Tv or Internet not required.
Let me know if I can add some good spots or something better to experience in Cherrrapunji.

I have updated the itinerary to something like this:

Day 1: (11th Aug) From Guwahati take a cab to Shillong. On the way see Umium Lake. Go for local sight-seeing(Cathedral of Mary, Ward's lake...).

Day 2: (12th Aug) Leave at 6.30am towards Cherapunji. On the way Garden of Caves falls, Dainthlen falls, Nohkalikai Falls.
Trek Double Decker Root Bridge [5-6hrs trek. Need to start trek by 11am]. Return back to Shillong.

Day 3: (13th Aug) (Mawlynnong, Dawki) or (Mawphlang sacred forest, Mawlyngbna). Return back to Shillong.

Day 4: (14th Aug) Jowai side Krangsuri Falls, Tyrshi Falls, Nartiang Monoliths, Smit - the Kings Hut and Laitlum Canyons.
Return back to Shillong.

Day 5: (15th Aug) Leave for Guwahati.

Keeping Shillong as the base is a very bad idea.

You will be wasting so many hours of daylight just going to and fro the same road almost every day.

@Karikor: Sometimes budget also becomes a concern, then you have no other option but to stay at places where you can stay at cheapest.
Initially I also didn't plan in making Shillong as the base but then hotels at other locations are above our budget, so couldn't help it.

Infact its quite the opposite. Hotels in Shillong are overpriced when compared to other cities. You will find more reasonable alternatives out of Shillong.

I have searched several sites but we didn't find any suitable property within our budget. I guess we were a bit late in booking as the budget ones were already booked by the time we tried.

So it's 1500 Rs Per D/B per Night. I guess you can get rooms within this budget at Sohra ( Cherapunji) & other places.
