Meghalaya travel for 2 months: into villages and along rivers and lakes
Sohra to Pynursla trail
Hey Karikor,
Thanks for ur prompt reply.
1) will trek up from Wei-Sawdong to Laitryngew. Done.
2) oh! So u mean that i trek to Sohbar and then catch the road to Pynursla. Is it road no 27 that u r referring to like that showing on Google maps. Coz road 27 as per Google maps hits straight to Pynursla and is south to Umniuh Tmar.
3) will do the Laitryngew - Laitmawsiang-Kongthong trail. Done.
Regards
Himmat

There are certain jungle trails that take you down to each waterfall. But since it is winter, should not be much of a problem. If you need further help, you can contact Wann Majaw on Facebook.

You had asked for a way to Pynursla. Well apart from the main regular road from Laitlyngkot, I think this is the one is the one less travelled. The road starts from Sohbar near Icchamati and crosses the river and reaches Hat Nongjri, from Nongjri you then move upwards to Pynursla. But then what will you do if you want to do the Rngain - Nongblai - Wahkhen trek?
3) will do the Laitryngew - Laitmawsiang-Kongthong trail. Done.
Very cool.
What about the other treks in Sohra and around Pynursla?

Big problem
Hey Karikor,
1) just completed the waterfall trek and it was amazing. Great recommendation.
2) then from there headed straight to laitmawsiang where i dropped my camera and now it won't operate
. The zoom lense has stopped moving in or out.
3) So headed back to shillong where i am hoping someone can fix it for cheap.
Any shop or technician you could recommend for fixing the sony camera. You already know about my budget travels and so it would be great if you recommend a affordable one.
The trip was going like a fairytale with great places n even greater people, but i guess every fairytale has a twist. This one is mine.
4) i am assuming that i will be stuck in shillong for a while as the problem seems serious so could you recommended some must do's in shillong.

Sunday shops closed
The sony service station is closed and also the technician at assam studios is on bihu leave. Heheh
I will wait for the assam studio guy to turn up as it seems to be a cheaper option compared to the sony service station which might charge a bomb.
3) fingers crossed hope either one can fix it for cheap.
4) Thanks for the suggestion on accommodation. Will check it out and hope it is less than 150 bucks, which is my daily allowance or else crash at the MTC stand for the night.
5) Thanks mate, u'vd been a grt help.
6) let me know if u have time for a coffee. My treat.

Hey Karikor,
It was a real pleasure to meetup and finally put a face to the helpful travel guidance. God bless!
1) Now hit the trails again with renewed vigor.
2) Plan to start from where i left. Laitmawsiang-Kongthong and then if possible head to nongblai Wahkhen - Rngain or else from kongthong to khang, war-war, Kshaid and then the highway at Mawjrong.
3) could you recommend treks around Pynursla. I will be doing the nongblai Wahkhen - Rngain trek and would like any trek that can take me from Mawjrong to Rngain from where i will start the nongblai Wahkhen - Rngain trek.
4) then plan to trek from Pynursla to Shnongpdeng and then from Shnongpdeng to Jowai.
5) from jowai to Mawphanlur and then to Nongkhrum, Ploingloin and then ranikor.
6) let me know if i am missing out on any good treks or places.
Shall await ur feedback
