Hello Everyone,

This is my first post on IM, though I have been following if for quite some time. Well, me and my friend are going on a budget trip to the abode of the clouds (Meghalaya) from September 15 to 21. Have been in touch with @Karikor (a great human being and always ready to help) through FB.

15.09.18: Reach Shillong from Guwahati at 19:00. Stay at Youth Hostel, Shillong.

16.09.18: Depart for Mawphlang & stay at Maple Pines Farm. Tentative places to visit: Sacred Grove Forest/Khasi Heritage village/Mawkdok Dympep Valley/Laitlum Canyons/Air Force Museum

17.09.18: Depart for Sohra & Stay at By The Way. Visit: Seven Sisters/Nohkalikai Falls/Kynrem Falls/Mawsmai Cave/Dainthlen Falls

18.09.18 Visit Nongriat Double decker root bridge/Thangkharang Park

19.08.18 Depart for Shnongpdeng stay at Halatong Homestay. Visit Umngot River, Dawki

20.09.18 Depart for Jowai & Stay at CTC Orchid Inn, Jowai

21.09.18 Shillong local sight-seeing and depart for Guwahati in Evening.

Will be hiring a two wheeler for all the travel requirements.

May I request Karikor and other friends to kindly review the above itinerary and give their valuable inputs.

Mawkdok Dympep Valley can be covered on 17th. Laitlum Canyons on 21st. On 16th you can add Shillong View Point near Shillong Peak.

On 17th you can cover also Garden of Caves, Arwah Cave and other places like Weisawdong. Thangkharang and bottom of Kynrem falls can also be covered on 17th after returning from Nongriat.

Thanks Karikor.

Received communication from James Perry that one day booking at Maple Pines would be difficult. He suggested at least 2 days booking. Please advise how to modify the above
itinerary accordingly.

But we would be reaching Shillong at around 19:00 hours. Would it be feasible to then go onwards to Maple Pines at night?

Yes no issues at all. Just inform James that you will be a little late.
