I wanted to know what i can cover from SHL-CHR say i start by 8.30. Nokalikai is on the list. Any thing else?

Oh now it makes sense. So you should be a-ok. If you are an experienced trekker, then you may as well get a guide to trek from Nongriat up to Nohkalikai falls. Would be great if you can do that.

So you want to know about Shillong to CHR. Ok. Here goes the list in serial order:

Shillong peak
Airforce Museum
Elephant falls
Mawphlang Sacred groves (if time permits)
Mawkdok Dympep valley viewpoint
Garden of Caves
Wah Kaba falls
Saimika park
Kharmih park
Dainthlen falls
Arwah cave
Nohkalikai falls
Sohra Market
Nongsawlia church and cemetry
Sohra driving range
Kutmadan
Eco park
Mawsmai cave
Nohsngithiang falls
Thangkharang park
Khoh ramhah rock and falls
bottom of Kynrem falls
from bottom of Kynrem falls you can go directly to CHR via Mawlong village

There are many other places like Mawsawa fall, Diengdoh falls, Wei Sawdong falls, Lyngskiar falls in Sohra but will need a little trek and a local guide from Sohra.

Hope this helps.

If you like to trek, then there are two more treks I would recommend

David Scot trail trail - Mawphlang - Lad Mawphlang (14km, easy, historic & nice scenery)

Wahkhen - Nongblai - Rngain trail (10km, good intense trek)

Both of these treks can be easily added to your itinerary, provided you allot time for them.

Hi karikor

On a different note - one my friend is travelling to meghalaya during the same period. would you have any contacts of a taxi driver to pick up from GUW airport and stay with them for the entire duration of the trip (must be 7 or 8 days), drop back at GUW airport. what would be approx cost for 7 days. Just to get an idea of the cost basis which we can negotiate and agree on a price.

thanks in advance

November will still be pleasant with a slight chill in the evenings. Sohra will be 1-2 deg warmer than Shillong. Rains would have also ended. Infact its a really good time.

Karikor, few inputs on logistics required.
D2 - Start from Sillong at 8.30 towards Sohra. I am staying at CHR.
Which are the must do places enroute considering i would like to reach CHR before nightfall.(3 or 4 must see places)
D3 - option 1 : CHR-tyrna-nongriat-rainbow falls-Nokalikai - What time should i start in the morning?
option 2 : CHR-tyrna-nongriat-rainbow falls -nongiat - tyrna - CHR - What time should i start in the morning?
option 3 : CHR-tyrna-nongriat-explore natural pools - tyrna - CHR

personally i would like to choose bw option 1 and 2
