Few points you may want to reconsider.

Nongriat trek down and up same day with a 5 year old could be a little difficult for him. He would need to enjoy also. I took my 4 year old stayed at nongriat overnight, which helped him recover for the trip back. still, i had to pick him up for the last 300 odd stairs.

Arwah cave is in Sohra, so doing it on the way to mawsynram? Day 4 looks a bit of a rush. After the trek to the fossils, waterfall and kayaking, you would be able to very limited sightseeing in Sohra.

Also, last week of May, it would rain, so you would experience delays in your journeys. Check with some locals as to what is doable that time.

Thanks, pink vagabond , for your response,

Please share the information where we can stay in Nongriat?

If we have time we can cover Arwah cave on the way to mawsynram. we can do it next day.

Can you please share a rough idea how long it will take to cover the trek to the fossils, waterfall, and kayaking in relaxing way,

Any suggestion for Day 6? our flight from GHY on day 7 5:30 pm, any suggestions how we can utilize the day,

Any place we should add or we can miss.

Nongriat we stayed at the Serene guest house, which is managed by Byron. He is reachable at byronnongbri@gmail.com or at 8787570552.

Network availability is an issue at times, so mails may be better to reach through to him.

For the Mawlongbna, we started at 9am and reached back to the road by 1. Kayaking we did after that and did not to zip lining as it was a sunday and they go to church on that day. By the time we left after lunch, it was almost 3. It was dark by the time we reached back to Sohra via mawphlang sacred forest.

And we walked along the river bed. You can call up the TN @ mawlongbna and enquire what would be the status in monsoons. I checked and Inda said that they do take tourists even in monsoon, but the route is different but more picturesque.

My suggestion to you would be to cover Mawlongbna, Mawphanlur and Sohra for the trip. Dawki as per my interaction with locals was that during monsoons it would not be possible to have watersports or boating. All the pictures there, which are magical, are mostly from December times. So would advice you to enjoy these 3 places at leisure.
Schedule could be, Mawphanlur (day 1), Mawlongbna (day 2), Sohra (Day3-4), Nongriat (day 5), Shillong (Day 6). This will be good for the short trip, plus gives you time to enjoy the places. You will get one full day for sight-seeing in sohra and half day at shillong.
