Hi guys,

Really sorry if this is a repeat post. However, I'd like some clarity on the reunification visa for Germany. Here are some details before I move forward:

I was awarded a temporary residence permit for 90 days on 11th March, 2015. The validity begins on the 25th of May, 2015. I'll be extending it once I'm in Berlin.

Now, I am not yet married but also am aware that it would require me having the residence permit for two years before my spouse can apply if we got married after the permit was granted - I originally planned to get a court marriage later this year. My question is - if I get a court marriage done within the next two months before I leave for Germany will she be able to apply for it after I go there? Or will the two year rule still apply considering I got the temporary residence permit before the court marriage date?

Please let me know if you need any further information to answer this question.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I've just read through this. The English version is somewhat abridged and leaves out some important points. What kind of residence permit are you going to get after your 90-day permit expires? If you are a "highly qualified person" you and your spouse enjoy a somewhat privileged position. There's also the language test to think about.

Hi,

You could also ask here: http://info4alien.de Preferably in German but some members also speak English. Many of the forum members work in embassys, aliens departments, etc. and you will get good information.

Thanks for responding. I'll be getting a two year work/residence permit. I'm not a highly qualified person so I don't really know about those privileges. She will get the language test - that won't be a problem.

I'm just a little confused about if I have a court marriage now, before I get the residence permit extension from Germany will it be okay if my spouse applies before two years.
