Hello Guys,

We have Applied For EEA Family Visa For UK as My Father is living in UK and Has Portuguese Passport.
we (me and my Mom) are refused for 2 times, both times reasons were different.
i got refusal yesterday stating below Reasons for me and mom.

For Me (Amin-Age 24 Years),
I have Applied As Dependent on My Father and*
They gave the Reasons that i have not Provided Sufficient Documents that Backs the Dependency of me on My Father.
As my Father Had Always Sent Money Through Western Union On my Mom Name, not mine,I am Confused What type of Documents I Should Provide To Show Dependency.

Also,For My Mother,
They Gave The Reason that My Mother Has different Name on Marriage Certificate as it is stated on Application.
As it is common in india that,Girls Maiden Name is different as she Gets married.
So On My Mothers Marriage Certi,My Mother Name is Different as of My Mothers Name on Passport.
i want to show How I Can Clear This Confusion and Can Clear Them.

Please Suggest Which type of Documents i Should Provide For me and My Mother.
Please Consider The Situation and Help me for Documents.

Thanks In Advance.*

Hi Amin,

Seems like every bureaucratic task in India requires a fat file of documentation, in triplicate. Consider whether tax documents such as income records might support your contention of dependency - such as tax returns filed by your father, or the absence of income tax paid by you - these can be obtained electronically, perhaps? Did your father keep receipts from his Western Union transactions, or can these be found on line?

Another source of documentation would be a notarized affidavit signed by some person familiar with your situation, such as a solicitor who has done work for your family, or an accountant who has helped with tax returns, or your landlord or school. If you were/are in school, your school records probably show the names of both parents and note who paid the fees. An official letter describing your financial situation can be notarized...

As for your mother, does she have a birth certificate, or any sort of government ID, such as a PAN card, Adhaar, driving license, school-leaving certificate, or anything else? I'd try to obtain some of these if not. Again, an affidavit might help, citing her maiden name and married name, date of marriage, date passport issued, in a few simple statements. (If you are in a village, the granpanchayat can provide this.) Bank statements would also be a good thing to include, with a letter from the bank manager. Any official document that shows her name(s) before and after marriage should go in the file. The more official stamps on them the better.

Often a form that establishes identity or residency proof (etc.) asks for a few items from a long list of options, but best is to provide as many as possible, imho.

Good luck with your quest, I hope you will be successful! And I hope other IMs will chime in with more suggestions, and explain what an affidavit is called in India!

An affidavit is called an affidavit in India.

Amin46, Are you really dependent on your father? Are you a child, student, etc? If you are a working or able-to-work adult, I don't think they will view you as dependent. I think you may be misunderstanding the language/terminology.

Same in England. Miss Samantha Jones marries John Smith and becomes Mrs Samantha Smith. This will be totally understood in UK. But the names on the marriage certificate are the unmarried names. Or they should be. Do you have other evidence, such as your mum having her spouse's name in her passport?

Sorry, don't know any more than that.
