Hi! I am new here and I'm a bit confused with the site. I also don't know if this question has already been posted but I'm too lost to find it (if ever it has been posted)

Anyway, I would just like to know: Is it possible for me to get married under e-visa?

I am currently having a 3-month tourist visa and it's about to expire on November. This is my third time here in India and my fianc and I are having trouble getting our court marriage fixed.

What we're thinking is that I exit India once my visa expires and then get an e-visa so I don't have to go back to my home country. Sorry for the long post. I hope my question makes sense

Thank you in advance!

I don't know anything about the India marriage aspect of your question, but I assume that you could apply for an e-visa online from anywhere?

Would you just go to Sri Lanka or Nepal and apply from there?

When you apply for an e-visa, one of the questions asked is have you visited India before, and they ask where your last visa was issued, and the number... It may not cause problems, but using two visas back-to back may raise a question of whether this is a genuine tourist?

I don't have any expert knowledge, just giving my amateur thoughts.

I don't think marriage is dependent on the visa..

Getting married on e-visa?

It wasn't. But best to study all the e-visa stuff. And hope that registrars have heard of them.

Thank you so much for your replies!

I have applied an e-visa online and thankfully, it was approved! Now we'll just exit India when my 3-month tourist visa expires and then get back to India via the e-visa. I hope this works just fine 🙏🏻

Regarding the marriage,  I read in another forum that he was able to get married via e-visa.. right now, we're just waiting for another requirement needed for the court marriage so we can apply.

I'm not wondering if I can actually get an X visa even if I'm just on e-visa or if I have to exit and go back to my country so I can get an X visa there. Do you guys have any idea for this? Thanks again

You can get registered marriage in India even if you don't have a visa. It doesn't depend on your immigration status. Immigrants who entered India illegally can also get registered marriage. Some documentation and residency conditions have to be met, that's all. I think it's all online now. Only show up on the date of the ceremony.
