North Eastern Permit??

Morning all, hoping to visit the North Eastern states in Feb, as a UK citizen am I right in thinking I won't need a permit nowadays ? And that only Arunachal Pradesh requires one. I've done a fair bit of digging around on the internet but I'm still not clear. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

See http://mdoner.gov.in/content/rappap-...ed-area-permit and http://mdoner.gov.in/content/inner-line-permit.

Right, you only need a permit for Arunachal.

I'm surprised that your "digging" did not resolve to:

ViShVa, I did come across this website, the 2010 circular was suspended in 2015 when I was last in India, that is why I was looking for any updates on the present situation or anecdotal experience, a previous poster gave me a short, affirmative answer to my question but I will continue the pleasant experience of "digging" around for a while longer. Yours Blah Blah

First I've heard of this. Have you come across any official link that says this? I can't find anything on the websites of Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur (the 3 states that affect you). Nagaland and Mizoram only say you have to register with the police within 24 hours of arrival, which is not the same as requiring a permit.

Dilliwa, sorry to confuse the issue, that was in early 2015, I think it's all ok now . By the way there was a very interesting article in the Guardian newspaper (England) today about Manipur. Goodnight.
