Hello everyone!
What are the trek options in Maharashtra for one/two days?
Would be helpful if you consider
1) expertise/guide necessary or not
2) Duration (Hours and days)
3) Difficulty level
while answering.
And what are your favorites?

Kalsubai could be done in a day. You need to reach Bhandhardara the day before. One can reach the summit in around 5-6 hours and return would take around 3 hours. No guide or experience is required.
Another option is the Janani temple at Tise village near Kolad. More information in my trip report.

Some reading pointers: www.google.co.in/search?q=trekking+in+shayadris
Also search for just shayadris at list.ly platform. You'll find old lists that have some amazing names and recommendations.

“Life is not a journey to the grave with intentions of arriving safely in a pretty well-preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out and loudly proclaiming ... WOW! What a ride!”

Kalavantin coupled with prabalgad. You can reach prabalmachi village in the evening. Either camp or homestay. Watch fireflies and trek kalavantin and prabalgad next morning. No guide required. And not very tough too.
Hello everyone!

1) expertise/guide necessary or not - Guide is must if you are not used to Sahyadri terrain in monsoon. Guides ( read locals from base village, any one if you pay them) are easily available in all the villages(base village of that particular fort/hill, etc)
2) Duration (Hours and days)- Depends and very difficult to answer. 4-5 hours is the average time of one single fort.
3) Difficulty level
while answering.
There are countless no. of forts/hills/cliffs/pass/col in Sahyadri of Maharashtra. Treks which are easier to do in winter/summer may be challenging in monsoon.
And what are your favorites?
1) Nashik region - Rajdher, Indrai, Dhodap*, Markandeya*, Basgad, Utwad* & Brahmagiri, Salher, Salota, Mulher, Moragad & Hargad
2) Bhandardara region - Ratangad, Kalsubai, Shindola, Ghanchakkar & Pabargad
3) Palghar region - Kamandurg*,Takmak, Kohoj, Tandulwadi, Gambhirgad & Asherigad.
4) Karjat region - Chanderi, Nakhind & Kothaligad.
5) Malshej Range - Bhojgiri, Daundya, Shindola, Nimgiri-Hanumantgad* & Hadsar.
6)Plains to mountains : Bhimashankar & Ahupe pass.
* - I will do this year, rest all have done over the years and all are my favourites
