I am planning to visit the following places :
Delhi to Sainagar - by train
after that shani shignapur
then Triambkeshwar
then Ajanta
then Ellora
then return from Aurangabad to Delhi

Please guide me what should be my travel plan and the estimated time required to cover the above places. I have already got ticket reserved from Delhi to Sainagar, Shirdi. The train will reach Sainagar Shirdi at 11 pm approx. on 13th April. Actually I want a detailed travel plan including the preferred mode of travel, approximate fare. I will return from Aura ngabad to Delhi by air.

Regards

Arun

dear arun
if i would have been your place, i would have travelled like this.
day 1:after reaching shirdi at 11 pm, take rest in preferrably bhaktniwas run by trust because hotels rooms are nowadays very much small and expensive. but there are lot of hotels, u can try your luck.
day 2: Take darshan & attend kakad aarati at early morning. then Hire a car for nashik darshan & Triambakeshwar darshan. (To & fro 250 kms/7 hours/1500 Rs.) Night halt at shirdi.
day 3:start early morning for aurangabad (appx. 200 kms/6 hours. By pvt. car (Rs.2000) or by State semibus (Lot of buses/Rs.250 per seat). Lots of hotels near Bus-stand at aurangabad. if reaching before 1 pm at aurangabad, finish Ellora & local darshan till late evening by pvt car (6 hours/Rs.1000).
day 4: Start around 7 am for Ajantha Darshan (12 hours/300 kms to & fro) (By pvt car/Rs.2500).By AC Sightseeing Bus(Rs.400 per seat.
This can be flexible as per your needs.
Have a happy & stress free journey

Thanks shri for devoting your time to reply my query. I am not clear whether shani shignapur covered in the travel plan or not. One more thing I would like to know. Whether Bhaktniwas can be booked before reaching there or not. If yes, please also let me know the address/phone/site I should approach for booking.

Regards

dear Arun
Shani Shingnapur (50 kms/1 hr from Shirdi) is on the way from Shirdi to Aurangabad. Better to start from Shirdi as early as possible so that you can have nice darshan at Shani singnapur & reach Aurangabad early for sightseeing. The road is nice (except Monsoon) & fully safe.
The official website of shirdi temple is disappointing. Dont think bhaktniwas can be booked online. However, if you are coming on other days, except Thursday/Saturday, there is a good chance that you will get a nice room without prior booking, as there are lots of rooms available in Bhaktniwas. Still, you can email Temple trust at the following address.

THANKS AGAIN SHRI FOR YOUR RESPONSE. As advised by you, I mailed at the email given by you. I got reply that the facility of room booking at bhakt niwas is available at their site - www.online.sai.org.in. I visited their site and the facility is actually available their but for availing the facility you have to register their online. then I tried so many times for online registration but after filling all the details when I press the 'register and proceed' button, nothing happens. I tried this exercise on different dates and different time but failed to register. Is their any tip for online registration on their site.

Regards

Thumbs up Shirdi/Ajanta/Ellora in Jan.2013

Dear all IMers,Help me..

Planning a trip to Shirdi in the first week of Jan. 2013, no idea how to plan it so that we can see maximum places without hectic schedule. we have around 8-9 days and we are a group of 8 adults, 6 kids. We still have to book train tickets as well as accommodation. We are planning to see these places and also suggest if we are missing other worthwhile smaller places :-

Shirdi
Shanishignapur
Ajanta/Ellora
Trambkeshwar, Bhimashankar and Grishneshwar.

Thanks a lot in advance

Rajj, The better route would be: Aurangabad -> Ajanta and Ellora -> Grishneshwar -> Shirdi -> Shanishignapur -> Nashik -> Triambkeshwar and then to Bhimashankar.
