National Park Mudumalai - Park run lodges in Theppakadu

Hello!

I'm looking for possibilities to go from Hampi > Mysore > Mudumalai > Coonoor > and get down to Varkala.

I'd like to stay in one of the lodges near the reception of the National Park in Theppakadu. Unfortunately, Lonely Planet says you'd have to go to Ooty to the wildlife warden's office personally (!) and reserve your room.

Of course I'd like to skip that, because I would have to take the bus to Ooty and get back to the park, instead of hopping out of the bus at the Gudalur stop (coming from Mysore) . Doesn't make sense to me ;)

Does anybody have experiences with that? Can you just go directly to the NP reception, or can a travel agent book it for you? We will be going there arond november 9th.

Thanks for your help!
