Lina if i were you I'd stay in Pahargunj as you can easly catch the metro upto Old dehli train station. The metro startion at old dehli is just near the trian station.
In Pahargunj you should be able to get an AC room for 600 just about, most of thee ac hotels are downthe far end of main bazar, nearish the metro at that end, there is another at new dehli station

Thanks Aryan and Brigit!:) I will check the website soon.yesterday I emailed to star group of hotels and they replied me saying HOTEL STAR PARADISE has double bedroom for rs.600 with AC facility. Did anybody stay there? Just wanted to know how good they are? I mean their hospitality/behaviour with tourist etc....

Next time, I'll start at the Hotel Ajanta, just north of Paharganj and New Delhi Stn. Although still suffering from the aftereffects of a major intestinal problem, I then found the walk from Arakashan Road (many more hotels there, and perhaps less busy than Paharganj) to Old Delhi Stn. not too demanding. 3 kms? There should be several hotels in Old Delhi rather close to the station, but I know nothing of them. Have you tried for example the Lonely Planet guides?

I stayed at Hotel Relax in Paharganj for 1,000 IRs @ night. Included air con, television, bar fridge, attached bath WITH hot water. That was for four of us - two adults and two children. I was very happy with it - location, location, location....

Hi Aryan! I checked the website you mentioned. But the hotels listed as budget hotels (Hotel Sun Court, Hotel Broadway, Hotel Janpath) are little over budgeted for me, I guess! Broadway is a 3 star and Janpath is a 4 star hotel.I donot think I will get a room within Rs.600 there!
Thanks Shark, for the information about hotel Relax.
Gautam, Himachal is a place where you would like to go always and always!!

Mrinalini, You are always welcome! If our travel plan matches, we can surely travel together. I have not fixed the date yet, but for sure in September!
