You can visit Hanle if you get permit for the place from DC Office Leh. Hanle can be approached both from Spangmik/Chusul; Erath/Chusul and Upashi/Mahe/Nyoma route and after reaching Loma you have to go towards Hanle via Rhongo. So you have to get permits according to route you would be choosing and must mention all the places enroute in the permit to avoid any disappointment later as ITBP is quite strict and if they find any place not mentioned in permit that they think should be to allow you to take the route, they may turn you back.

Hanle - Tsomoriri is also can be done via normal route i.e. via back to Loma - Nyoma - Korzok or the shorter one via Chumur but not advisable as the route needs more permits and road needs good car and experienced driver to navigate.

There are very few staying options at Hanle, so check out if you can get anything in October.

Spangmik - Hanle should be a 6/7 hours drive but with photo stops can take 10/11 hours and Hanle - Tsomoriri may be slightly more than that. Few members have recently taken this route and wait for a first hand update on road conditions and time taken from them directly.

Taxi drivers would be willing to go or not depends on then weather/ road condition and ofcourse the demand /supply trend. If they can get some standard route like Nubra/Pangong/Tsomoriri, they might not be interested in taking this route as part of the route would be rough and they need to carry fuel or need to buy it from locals. Also sometimes depend on experience of the driver, not all drivers are comfortable taking all the routes. But you should be able to find someone considering the route is becoming quite popular.

To Visit Hanle Telescope, you have to reach within a certain time with no prior permission but staying their guest house is impossible if you don't know someone in Indian Institute of Astrophysics. They don't entertain any guest to stay without prior permission and getting that is not easy. PWD GH and very few homestays are available which you can avail if they are free.

Spangmik - Hanle and Hanle - Tsomoriri both would be 7/8 hours but with lots of photo opportunities might increase as well. PWD GH you can get on spot if available, no prior permission is needed.

I am not sure what you mean here? What is your question, can you clarify? Nyoma doesn't come under the way between Pangong to Hanle, it comes between Hanle and Tsomoriri though.

Regarding driver/car, I am sending you a PM.

Yes it is around 7/8 hous but more you stop for photographs, time reqired would be more, it's an awesome circuit to cover for sure. But remember you have not much option of stay at Hanle except one Homestay and one PWD GH for which you have to search for key. Observatory GH won't allow you unless you have prior permission to stay there getting which is extremely difficult.

Hello Mr. Shrivastava, welcome to IM and hope you would enjoy this forum.

I am trying to answer your queries one by one.

1. What is the actual route to Hanle, from Bhopal, Madhya pradesh and How much will overall journey cost for 1 person ?

From anywhere in India you have to first reach Leh and get your permits from DC. In December only option is fly. Check out from where you get economical flight tickets for Leh. Leh flight most likely be available from Delhi and Chandigarh during that time. You need to travel to Delhi/Chandigarh from Bhopal possibly by road/rail/air.

From leh the direct route is via Upashi - Chumathang - Nyoma - Loma - Hanle. Almost 250kms oneway and drop by cab (that can take 6 persons) would be 8281 and a return trip would cost you 10189 from Leh. Now based on your other modes of travel and cost, cost per person would come out. But Leh - Hanle in winter you have to depend on reserved cab. I don't expect much of public transport during that time but you can confirm it with IIA.

2. Is there any food stufff facility there ?

Yes all facilities are there infact those are one of the best facilities in the whole region. But rooms are limited, if you are big group, speak to IIA if they can provide you accommodation.

3. Please message me the number of Taxi Driver and what cost he will charge ?

Go through my trip report here, you would get all information.

http://www.indiamike.com/india/ladak...4/#post1282629

4. How will be the road conditions there in december ?

Road condition would be good, it's all paved road from Leh to Hanle and as you won't cross any high pass in between, you shouldn't have trouble. But keep time to acclimatize in Leh. You should stay atleast 2 days (preferably 3) before trying for Hanle, its around 15000 ft.

5. As we will get there and the tour is of 5 days, How will we come back after 5 days ? Will contacting Driver helps ? Or can the driver wait for some 5 days or is there any other aid ?

Talk to Taxi drivers and see if keeping the cab for 5 days is cheaper or better to take a drop and pickup. Go by economics.
