hi,

i(33yrs) have planned a tour to ladakh this june along with my wife(28yrs) and sister(28yrs),we will be reaching leh by flight from delhi on 17th june morning and my return flight ticket to srinagar is on 23rd june morning at 6 am.
Guys help me out to prepare an itinerary, i am looking to cover nubra valley, pangong lake, tsomoriri lake, rafting.
Also will appreciate your suggestions on lodging(leh, nubra, pangong, tsomoriri) along with rates, we can go for high range guest houses or homestays as well(cleanliness, veg food, nice view, clean linens, hot water must)
we will like to hire seperate taxis to visit places.
we dont know how to swim still will love to go for rafting..

thanks in anticipation..

thanks vikram

will it be ok to travel to pangong lake on 18th june, i will be arriving in leh on 17th june at 8 am, 24 hrs of acclimatization is enough?
how are the shakti homestays in nimmo and stok, to acclimatize?
can i do rafting and lumayuru in a single day?
how much time does it take to reach nimmo from leh(36km)
in pangong where should i stay? tangtse or lake itself? i want to see the sunrise in pagong, if i stay in tangtse from where can i have a better view of sunrise?
in nubra what are the worth seeing?

Hi traveller_. No ! 24 hours is not enough. No way! See AMS thread here. On that itinerary, please forget Pangong - its 4200 and far too high. Every year people get badly sick on this approach. If you break down on the wrong side of the pass to pangong it is potentially life threatening on the second day. Acclimatisation takes 2 days minimum, I always take 3. In the limited time you have, do nothing on the first day. taxi round the indus valley gompas on the 2nd and maybe visit the nimmu or phyang gompas on the third.
rafting and lamayuru in day one is out unless there is a raft place at lamayuru itself. Its a long drive to get there.
take care, ladakh is special and the people want you back next year.

Leh in June End

Hi,Traveling to Leh in June End for 7N 8D. We are a group of 7 people. Please note the following things we wish to cover. Will really appreciate if someone could give me the correct sequence for it as I am not aware of the geography and distances in Ladakh.
1. Over Night stay in Nubra, Pangong & Tso Moriri
2. River Rafting for first timers. (Please suggest where)
3. Visit the important and good Monastries.

Can someone please fit that into a practical 7 night itinerary? Thanking in advance.
