Archana, though the itinerary looks good but still this is what I will suggest with little modifications in your itinerary

Day 01. 03-09-2011 Goa to Delhi - flight
Overnight at Delhi.

Day 02. 04-09-2011 Delhi to Leh by flight and then move to Alchi
-- After reaching Airport book the taxi for the tour and move to Alchi. Alchi is at lower altitude than Leh. So, it will better to sleep at Alchi for first few nights rather than Leh.
-- Either get the permits made for yourself in advance through local travel agent or hotel staff or before going to Alchi apply for the permits at Leh DC office. You can download the application form from here. Go prepared with the complete set of documents and filled form mentioned in the link, it will hardly take 15-20 minutes to get the permits.
-- You need to keep your body very hydrated + do not over exert your body for first few days. For more info on acclimatization read here
-- Stay overnight in Alchi

Day 03: 05-09-2011
Alchi, Likir, Basgo, Redzong, Lamayuru. Back to Alchi.
Overnight at Alchi again.

Day 04: 06-09-2011
-- Move back to Leh from Alchi on this day and on the route visit
Hall of fame, Pathar sahib Gurudwara, magnetic hill,Indus sangam
-- Overnight in Hotel at Leh.
-- Rafting would be charged extra. We plan to enquire after reaching Leh.

Day 5: 07-09-2011
Leh-Kardungla-Diskit-Hunder
-- Visit Diskit old and new monastery including the tallest Buddha statue
-- In the evening you can go for double humped camel ride at Hunder
-- Overnight stay at Hundar in camp tents.

Day 6: 08-09-2011
Hunder - Diskit – Sumur – Panamik – Sumur – Khardung La – Leh
-- Visit Sumur and Panamik and finally return to Leh.
-- Panamik has hot water springs and Sumur has a nice monastery.
-- Overnight at Leh

Day 7: 09-09-2011
Leh- Pangong Tso lake via chang la.
-- Visit Thikse monastery as it is on the way
Overnight stay @ Pangong tso lake in tents.

Day 8: 10-09-2011
Pangong Tso – Leh.
Visit Shey Palace & Hemis monastary is they are on the way
Overnight stay @ Leh

This trip would cost Rs.8212 for as per taxi rate chart
( Rs 6757 for pangong + Rs.1455 for Thiksey, shey & hemis)

Day 9: 11-09-2011
Leh - Tso Moriri via Chumathang
-- Cover Karzok Monastery
-- Over night @ Korzok.

Day 10: 12-09-2011
Tso Moriri - Tso Kar - Moore Plains - Leh via Taglang La
-- Cover Tso Kar, Moore Plains , Taglang La
-- Overnight @ Leh

This trip would cost Rs.9369 not 9900 as per taxi rate chart

Day 11: 13-09-2011
Leh to Sarchu ( by shared minibus / shared taxi )
Overnight @ Sarchu Tents.
-- wonder if you can get shared taxi that will stop at Sarchu. Do confirm before booking.

Day 12: 14-09-2011
Sarchu to Manali. Reach manali by afternoon / evening.

Take last Volvo bus to delhi @ 09.30pm
Overnight in the Volvo bus.

Day 13: 15-09-2011
Reach Delhi in the morning.Take rest.
Overnight @ delhi.

Day 14: 16-09-2011
Train from NDS at 09.00 am

Day 15: 17-09-2011
Reach Goa in the evening.

You do not have any buffer day in the plan. On Day 12 you can miss the volvo in the evening if there is any delay. In that case rather halting the Day 11 at Sarchu, do Leh - Keylong and then do Keylong - Manali on Day 12 to ensure that you take the evening Volvo to Delhi. Or just make a Day trip to Pangong Tso which will give you the much needed buffer day for Manali-Leh Highway.

Thanks a lott for ur suggestations..Dheeraj....
I was speaking to kshil about my itinerary....he has told me some modifications to be done as well....
Will analyze all the feedback from the forum & revise my itinerary again... I very much agree with the point of NO EXTRA DAY in hand.. Will try to keep some buffer day while revising my itinerary..

Is one day visit to pangong sufficient??? will it do justice to the place?? Let me know..

I will message you my revised itinerary once i finish it..

Regards,
Archana

Archana, well to be very frank one day in my personal opinion may not be good enough for Pangong Tso as I am sure Sunrise and Sunset are two best thing in Landscape which one must not miss. The colors are all together different among all natural bodies at these two phases of the day. A day trip to Pangong will just ensure that you saw Pangong Tso in almost similar light.

Having said that a large percentage of people go for day trip to Pangong Tso. Hence, it is a matter of personal preference but for me all the tourist destinations in Ladakh are worth two days stay atleast.

+1 to Dheeraj, Absolutely agreed to what Dheeraj mentioned. To do some justice to the places and their natural beauties, night stay is highly recommended. Just be careful on acclimatization part.
