Dear India Mikers,

I am planning for a vist to Kullu + Manali in the first week of November with a 2 year old kid in the family.

Is it the right time to visit the place?

Will there be any problem in taking a 2 year old kid during this time? or should I take any special precaution?

What are the attraction that will be open during November 1st week.

Thanks in advance for your help,

I don't think it would be good idea to visit Manali with a 2 year old in November. Please check what were last November's temperature in accuweather or wunderground.

In November except for Rohtang pass all other attractions would be accessible. To know what places are there to see in Manali please read wikitravel Manali. Similarly search for some trip reports using the search box at the top. Once you do the research and shortlist the places to see we can help you fine tune your plan.

Also to reach Manali you will have to take a bus / cab from Delhi / Chandigarh. Flights are unreliable. Train will go till Shimla and for a short trip going via Shimla will be time consuming.

Manali is at an elevation of 6726 feet. Oxygen gets rarer at higher altitudes. May not be a good idea to go to Manali with a baby.

First week of November is a transition period. It is possible that temperatures may not dip much and you can have a nice trip. BUT, do you want to take that chance. If yes, then be prepared for cold and be happy if it isn't when you reach there.
If you do decide to go ahead with the trip, then as Aarosh mentions, go through some sies, make a rough itinerary, we should be able to help you fine tune it.
Oxygen issues usually become prominent at Rohtang pass and a bit enroute as well, don't think Manali should have that problem.
