Hi to all Indiamikers! We, 2 families consisting of 4 adults & 4 kids, all kids are between 5-10 years are planning a trip to Delhi-Shimla-Manali from 16/06/16 to 25/06/16. Our itinerary is as follows:-

16/05/16 Board Ranchi-Delhi Garib Rath Express at 4.40 pm

17/06/16 Reach Delhi at about 11 am, night stay in Delhi

18/06/16 Departure for Shimla at 8 am in a hired cab from Delhi (Preferably Innova/Scorpio) Reach Shimla at about 3 pm, night stay at Shimla

19/06/16 Shimla local sight seeing

20/06/16 8 am Departure for Manali, reach Manali at about 2 pm

21/06/16 Visit to Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley

22/06/16 Manali local sight seeing

23/06/16 8 am Departure for Shimla, reach Shimla at about 2 pm, night stay at Shimla

24/06/16 8 am departure for Delhi, reach Delhi at about 3 pm, night stay at Delhi

25/06/16 Delhi local sight seeing & Departure for Ranchi at 4.05 pm from Delhi-Ranchi Garib Rath Express

Now there are few questions & I am seeking replies from the experts:-

1. What will be the cab fare (Innova/Scorpio) from Delhi to Shimla & Shimla to Manali respectively?

2. What is the tariff of hotels in Shimla & Manali ? Please suggest few names, my budget is around 1,500 k per day.

3. What are the places to cover on 19/06 in Shimla & on 22/06 in Manali?

4. Can we find snow at Rohtang Pass/Solang Valley on the above period?

Hi !
Why are you planning to travel from Shimla to Manali and then back to shimla ?
You can come to delhi directly from manali. I could not understand that.
Second thing in my opinion you should either choose manali or shimla. There are many beautiful places around each one of them, which You can explore in detail. This will save your travelling at the same time increase stay at these beautiful places.

Shimla can be skip i June and you can spend more time at Manali.Better is to hire innova for complete tour from Delhi to Delhi. That should be relatively economical than hiring part by part. You dont need to come back Shimla to return to Delhi. If you are doing this to split the journey in 2 part for comfort then there are many place on Manali-Delhi road, you can stop at Chandigarh.

18/06/16 5.35 am departure for Kalka by Himalayan Queen Express, reach Kalka at 11.10 am & catch Toy Train from Kalka to Shimla at 12.10 pm, reach Shimla at 5.30 pm. Night stay in Shimla

19/06/16 Shimla local sight seeing

20/06/16 8 am Departure for Manali by hired vehicle, reach Manali at about 2 pm
21/06/16 Visit to Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley

22/06/16 Manali local sight seeing

For 1 and 3 see www.hptdc.nic.in

I doubt if you would find snow in Rohtang during that time.
