Hello Travel Experts,

I need your suggestion on the following points regarding the travel to manali.

My Itinerary is as follows.

13 May night - Start to Manali from Delhi
14 May - at rest
15 May - local sight seeing
16 May - rohtang pass (not sure it opens???)
17 May - Kullu and Manikaran sightseeing
18-May - Leave to Shimla and halt
19 May - local sightseeing
20 May - Start to delhi airport

1. Can you suggest if this itinerary is ok. Considering that I have few senior citizens with me.
2. Will the Rohtang pass be open by this time?
3. If Rohtang is not open, is there an alternate option to see snow?
4. How about the road conditions from Delhi to Manali ? I am planning to rent an innova from there till my entire trip ends. Will it be a tiresome travel to reach manali due to heavy traffic?
5. I will start from delhi to Manali at 12:00 AM (cos of my flight reaching at 10:30 PM on 13th May). I was told that it wil take 15 hours.. does it really take 15 hours assuming normal traffic?

Thanks for your expert help,
Santhosh Subramanian

Hi Santhosh,

Please see this and this link. You will get your answers and more idea. Delhi to Manali is around 14 hours journey. Road condition is good, Chandigarh to Delhi - Excellent. If Rohtang pass is closed then you will be able to go up to the place where you will get snow.
