Besides the Edukkal caves that is.

I'm taking a break there for a week or so starting this weekend and am serioulsy even beginning to contemplate moving my work to that area if things work out. I've meetings set with some of the key folks in education there but want to learn more about the community and what to do for relaxation and fun, good restaurants, and so on...I will have a car and driver so am looking for any insider info on getting to know Suthan Bathery and, more generally, Wayanad after being Thrissur for the past two years.

Any suggestions? (thanks in advance)

In Wayanad, You need to travel atleast 20 - 40 kms for checking out all the tourist spots

You have Soochipara falls which is cool and Meenmutty falls which is really awesome. Then you have Pookkut lake, Wild life sanctuary and edakkal caves. But you need to travel atleast 20 - 40 kms for reaching every spot.
