Hello fellow travelers,

I'm looking for some suggestions on accommodation in Munnar (tentative travel time : Jan 2018). I'm open to hotels/homestays. Here are my requirements:
  • We are a family of 5 adults and 2 infants and hence a 3-bedroom family room/cottage/homestay is preferred where we stay together but have our privacy as well.
  • We wish to stay in/close to Munnar town so that restaurants, travel agencies etc are within a short walking distance.
With the above, if we have a good view of the valley from the hotel, that would be a bonus.

My budget is around 7K per night for the whole gang.

Please throw in your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I recommend you stay at the Olive Brook, Pothamedu (just outside Munnar) for a beautiful environment, quiet, good food and excellent cardamom plantation:

We stayed there in 2006 (yes, I know it is a long time ago!) but I would happily return. I see other IndiaMikers have also recommended it.

Thanks TheyyamDancer! Do you remember if there were shops, travel agencies, restaurants etc available around the property? As we will be staying in Munnar for 3 days, I don't want to depend solely on the hotel restaurant and/or the vehicles booked via the hotel for roaming around.

Thanks again in advance!

You could consider Sea Grace Cottage or John's Cottage or Nature Glade Cottage. It is closer to the city center and within walking distance of what your requirements.
