Hi all,
I would like to share my kerala trip experience with you all.Thanx to all the members who helped me in planning my trip.I travelled from 12th to 20th of December 2008.

I booked the tour through Murugesan of Inspire kerala holidays. It was a very pleasant and memorable experience.

Day 1
Munnar
Ranger Woods resort
- Arrived in Ernakulam town railway station from bangalore at around 10.30 a.m.The driver named Jagdish was there to recieve us.Travelled to Munnar by non a/c indica car.The journey was good and stayed in Ranger Woods resort. It is a home stay run by an elderly Lady and her son.Its location is very nice ,far from the Munnar town.It has only three rooms with 24 hrs hot water faility.
Pros
Very nice and quite location among tall trees and misty mountains.
Rooms are clean and maintained.
Surely recommended
Cons
Limited choice of food.

Day 2
Munnar
Ranger woods resort
Visited places in around munnar including Ervakulam national park. This is a good place to visit.Overnight at Ranger woods.

Day 3
Thekkady

Wild Corridor resort

Stayed in Wild corridor hotel.

Pros
Very picturesque place among the jungles.
Well Maintained rooms
Cons
Food is expensive and one does not have any option of eating outside as the resort is located some 5 kms from main market.

Visited Periyar Wild life sanctuary and availed the boating. It is advised to be there almost 1 hr in advance to get a upper deck seat in the boat.

Day 4
House boat in Alleppy
Availed Canal view house boat .

Pros
Very friendly staff on board the house boat.
Food is good especially if one likes sea food.

Cons
A/C switched on from 9 p.m to 6 a.m
Very less boating as they tend to anchor the boat for long

One should try prawns and Karemeen fish in the house boat.

Day 5
Kovalam
Sagara Beach Resort
Reached Kovalam at around 2 pm and stayed in Sagara Beach resort.
It is an Ok kind of place near the beach but not beach facing.
Pros
Near the beach
Clean rooms
Cons
A liitle bit crowded

Day 6
Day trip tp kanyakumari

Visited kanyakumari and returned the same day.The place is very cwowded in this season and the government Ferry services are pathetic.Had to stand while travelling to vivekananda rocks.

Day 7
Depart to bangalore from Trivandrum Railway station

Thanx again to all IM member for thier help .Please ask me if you need any further details.

Dear Swabhiman Patnayak

Thanks for the review. I am contemplating a trip with inspirekerala.com and am too interacting with Murugesan. A few questions:

1. How was the houseboat interiors and general outlook? We are ladies only travelling with a kid. Is it good enough?
2. How was the driver and car? Any complaints on rough driving, etc.

Thanks.

HI ,

1.How was the houseboat interiors and general outlook? We are ladies only travelling with a kid. Is it good enough?
Ans- The house boat staff was very courteous and friendly. If possible ask for the Canal View houseboat. The interiors are good ,but the A/C is turned on at 9pm in the night.Just confirm the A/C timings from Murugesan. If you are non-vegitarian do not forget to have some fresh Kareemeen fish fry .

2. How was the driver and car? Any complaints on rough driving, etc.
Ans - The car driver Jagadish was Ok.Drove well in the ghat region of Munnar. But his communication skills in English and Hindi are bit poor.

Anyway what is the price Murugeasan is quoting and whats your tour plan ?

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I am doing 2 Nights Cochin, 2 Nights Munnar and 2 Nights Kumarakom. However, I got good hotel deals on makemytrip.com so would be doing only car and driver from Murugesan. I am paying 7500 net for 7 days Indica Ac.
