Just last week, a friend persuaded me to join them in south india for a couple of weeks from 15th to 26th Feb. I think i know where I want to go but i'm not sure if i am going in the right direction - never could read a map! I'm leaving London on 14th Feb, arriving Mumbia on 15th and travelling straight to Kochi by air. Travelling from Kochi to Fort Cochin, then to Munnar, then to Periyar, then to Kumarakum, then to Allepey.

From Allepey back to Kochi to fly back to Mumbai on 23rd Feb. Back to London on 26th Feb.

Can i do all this in such a short time? How long should I stay at each place to fit it all in. If I have to cut out one place - what one? Is my route ok?

Any guidance gratefully received. Many thanks guys. Jeannie Beannie

Your route is ok except for kumarakom which I have replied to you in another one of your posts.

Looks like you have 8 days in Kerala which is ok for a Taiste and a quick look around.

Maybe 2 nights Fort Cochin - 2 nghts Munnar - 2 nghts Periyar( Kumily)- 2nghts Allepey.Depending on your Exit flight time you should be able to go Directly from Allepey to airport.

The only reason to stay in Kumarakom is if you arrive too late from Periyar for a houseboat overnighter from Allepey (assuming you intend to 'do' a houseboat cruise).
