How many days? How do you plan to travel between the cities?

The route looks proper.

Hi Aarosh,
I am also planning a family trip on the same territory in July 2018 end. We are two or three families each with 2 children of 13 to 10 yrs age group. Need your suggestions.
My plan as follows.
Day 1. 22 july 2018 - Flight Delhi to Cochin / Trivendram/ Coimbatore
Day 2. 23 july 2018 - Cochin to munnar
Day 3. 24 july 2018 - Munnar local + For Neelakurunji visiting Eravikulam national parks
Day 4. 25 july 2018 - Munnar to Thekkeddy
Day 5. 26 july 2018 - Periyar national park / Thekkeddy local
Day 6. 27 july 2018 - Thekkeddy to Alleppy , day houseboat cruise, night stay at Kumarkom.
Day 7. 28 july 2018 - Kumarkom to Trivendram/ Kovalam
Day 8. 29 july 2018 - Afternoon flight to Delhi.
Is it ok or will be hectic? There are few questions as follows.
1. Will it be ok to start from Trivendram instead of Cochin? As I found that most of the tours are starting from Cochin. Another option can be Coimbatore as a starting point.
2. I must like to see Neelakurunji blooming. Which is the best place to see it and how I should plan about it?
3. Usually while traveling I don't prefer to book hotels in advance. Will it be ok in Kerala?
4. Some good hotels, tree house, veg. restaurant recommendations.
Thank you.

Why do you want to go to Trivandrum / Kovalam just for a day? Alleppey and Kumarakom are backwaters for house boat. No need to visit both the places.

Stick to Cochin - Munnar - Thekkady - Periyar - Alleppey / Kumarakom. July would be off season due to monsoon so you would be okay without advance booking of hotels.

The Neelakurunji blooming season is supposed to be from July to Ocotober, however I am not sure if you would be able to see them in full bloom during July. Eravikulam, Rajamala and Top Station should be the best place to see them. As you would be in Munnar during the blooming season book your hotels in advance.

How do you plan to travel between cities?

Kurinji flower

According to reports in a Tamil newspaper, Neelakurinji flowers have started blossoming in Marayoor on the Udumalai - Munnar road.

The report says the flowers wilt in 10 days.
