Hi,

I am planning for my honeymoon in kerala during 19th Feb to 24th Feb. I have booked a hotel Igloo Nature resort in Munnar and after Munnar planning for a 2 night houseboat cruise. Can anyone tell me if 2 nights in a houseboat would be boring when you are on a honeymoon?
Also,
1. After reading some of the posts I think I will reach Alleppey and then book a houseboat. But my houseboat plan is on a Sunday, will I still get a houseboat once I reach there?
2. What time should I be there ideally? because if I am leaving from Munnar, by taxi it takes 5 hours. So what is the ideal time to reach if I have to find a proper houseboat with upper sundeck.
3. And do I have to book a taxi in advance or can I book it after reaching there? how much does it cost from Munnar to Alleppey?

Thanks for your help in advance..

What sort of a question is that Depends on what you two want to do on your honeymoon . Anyway, if you are staying in munnar, try and leave by afternoon and reach alleppey by evening. Sundays are not holidays for the boat owners and they have more traffic on holidays. You can pre book your house boats before hand. Here are two number of different people, whom we had approached when we went there. One is 09249738840 - AKG house boats, and 09847743183 - Love shore cruises. These boats would have done their day cruises and would be free by evening.Remember to haggle on the cost. You dont have to book your taxi in advance, and can negotiate the fare. The rates vary from 8.5 to 10 per km.

I agree with Goo, one night is suffiecient to spend in a house boat, else it becomes boring.

Munnar to Kumarakom by taxi will cost u 2000, since u are travelling to allepey, may be another 500 more.

I think the check in time for the houseboat is 12 noon and checkout time is 10 am. So u need to leave munnar early morning to reach allepey by lunch time.
