Itenary suggestions for a couple with a 2 year old

Please help me set out an itenary. I will be there with hubby and little one in January 2007 and would like to do things that my son can remember too and enjoy. I don't know what the best places to visit would be. Please let your suggestions flow.

I would suggest you cut down your one week in Mumbai to about three or four days and then use the rest to go down to Goa and then carry on to Kerala. Depending on how many days you have here and how you will be travelling in the country as well as keeping in mind the little one to take care of I would suggest flights instead of train journeys as they could take their toll on the baby and make life a bit difficult to handle and enjoy too. Also depending on what you are interested in seeing and enjoying, there are different places to go to and if you mention your interests it would make it simple for someone to recommend places accordingly. Most places will be full up during the christmas and New Year time so please book in advance for the hotels as well as transport that you will be using.

Cheers,
Aadil.

Thanks Aadil and Almoraboy
1. I would like to see Kerala rather than the mountains.
2. We are spending some time in Mumbai for shopping for my sister's wedding and hence are spending a week there. While there I thought I would take little one to Esselworld and any other children's attractions.
3. We would want to do a relaxing holiday as opposed to travelling too much but also have some activity where little one can enjoy too. He loves animals, and ofcourse open space is a luxury as we're always cooped up when in UK.

Well, I am not sure if they will allow two year olds on any of the rides in Esselworld (never been there myself, so I wouldn't know for sure!!!).

About shopping in Mumbai I guess you will not have much time to look around then!!! And about the places in Kerala I am sure you will love it down there in the backwaters as well as on the beaches. There is some wildlife there too so you could definitely enjoy some elephants in Periyar.

Hope you have a nice time out in Mumbai and Kerala. Enjoy your travels and shopping experience too.

Cheers,
Aadil.
