Could be a good business venture?
A niche market, sport fans that like to drown a few too.

Can't be an extinct species in India ?

Sure, Looks like a good business venture. maybe in bangalore, mumbai delhi, chennai and even hyderabad, where the BPO culture pervades. But in kochi, a sleepy old town, where shops down their shutters by 8, will take some time for the culture to catch on.

In some countries Bar Owners use Scantly Clad
Barmaids and Waitresses to Draw customers.

Somehow I don't think that would be entertained in
Kerala Either.

Well that technique is used in India (was used)in Mumbai Beer bars until the moral police stepped in and drove the bar girls out of mumbai. We can think of something like that here in kochi. I am a great lover of the saree, and believe if worn artistically(#@$%*&) can be more revealing and seductive than all those polka bikinis. (Unless by scantly clad you mean .........)

You surely do get them here mate. Till 2 in the morning, long after the hotel bars have downed their shutters, at the Salt n Pepper at Fort Kochi It is an open restaurant, so you can start a sport yourself after a few, and be assured that somebody will cheer you

Try beautiful Sports Bar at both the hotels of Taj i.e. Taj Malbar and Taj Residency.

Mattancherry Bar at Taj Malbar is fabulous. Try Rice Boat Restaurant. The view is most magnificient. You feel like you are sitting in the baot.

Harbour View sports bar at Taj residency in Ernakulam is also good. You wont get any other sports bar in this city

You've lost me on both your above questions.

The only time Aussie Morals should be Questioned is when they are on the Cricket Field.

sachinv is spot on with his Reccomendations, have been to both
places he mentions and Failed to see any Moral Police in attendance at either of those venues.

Champs, the bar in Gokulam Park Inn - http://www.sarovarhotels.com/Gokulam_Park.htm# - is the nearest thing to a sports bar in Cochin.

The bar in Taj Malabar has a much better ambiance and the view from the restaurant outside would be hard to match, as sachinv stated earlier. However if all you are looking for is a bar with the TV tuned to sports channel, reasonably priced drinks and happy hours during late afternoon/early evening, then Champs fits the bill best.

Still on a tangent...
The only sport visible in Kerala bars is 'Fastest to reach bottoms up', 'Sliding under the table', 'Longest way to reach point A to B' and so on...
Beer??! In Kerala?! Oh you wimps . Hard and brown is the motto, the harder and the browner the better.
(PS - Beer is costlier in Kerala than in any other state.)

Champs' Sports Bar is more of a hotel bar that has taken on a sports theme. There are pictures of David Beckham wearing a Man Utd kit! The beer is now Rs144. That said, it does have two screen and ESPN. It's about Rs50 in an auto-Rickshaw from the dock. If you're in Fort Kochin though, I'd suggest going to the XL bar. The beer is a LOT colder and again, although it is not a sports bar as such, it does have a screen. And Surresh is more than happy to change the channels for you!
