Well there cant be any two opinion on Kottakkal Ayurveda Shala. They were practicing Ayurveda before it became a fad. They have an office in Delhi also, i believe, near Chanakya. Or you could visit their website.

I worked in Delhi for 6 yrs before moving to kochi. Day trips other than the local sightseeing, which we did are Sohna Lake, Surajkundh among a few(other places i am missing out now) and u could even think of Jaipur in a day, though we spent 3 days there. an excellent drive). And dont miss the Akshardham temple in Delhi.

I would suggest you book early, especially in Kottakkal. You will find various other Ayurvedic centres, which you can join even after you reach here. Trips, lot of suggestions already exist in this forum. You can decide depending on your other activities and the duration you will be here. Anything specific in kochi, i will be glad to help.

i see, well i will look into other ayurvedic places in kerala just incase. when you say book early, how early exactly?
I think we are planning to go to kerala come early to mid january no matter what. for holidaying and snd sightseeing and of course the weather. my other reson being that i am supposed to be going to the vijnana kala vedi cultural centre the end of feb. so we have plenty of time to kill. when i have done my research i wll get back to you if i need to about anything specific in kochi - i know my mom would like to spend some time there. i have already been onto various threads on here - looking at accomadation in kochi.
i guess the search goes on...
thx renu

Hi Renu I'm a UK female too - travelling with my friend to India over Christmas. We'll be in Delhi but travelling south towards Kerala. I've been before once, but it's my friends first time.

We'll be in India for 3 weeks - would be nice to link up if you are around!]
