I visited Kgudi wilderness camp from Bangalore. Its one of those Jungle Lodges camps which is right inside the forest. The tents for stay are thrilling in the sense they are right in the middle of the forest.
The road is pretty good all the way from Kanakapura, Malavalli, Kollegal, Nanjangud and Br Hills. As you near the camp, the drive becomes very scenic as the road cuts through the forest for the last 30 KMs.
The safari is done one in morning and then in evening to maximise the spotting opportunities of wild life.
Although its a Tiger reserve it is very rare to spot a tiger. But other animals like elephants, boars, spotted deer, sloth bears and sambar deer are in plenty.

I would say its a good weekend option to get away from the urban chaos for some quality time with nature!
