You are welcome, Mysore is an enchanting city and during dussherra it becomes like fairyland :) very nice and entertaining definitely worth a visit there specially during dussherra.

Hiya - a quick question - I was looking to visit Mysore in early September (& visit northern India in late September) - is Dasara so whimsical that I should stick around for it ?

Also, most people I've talked to say that Mysore can be fit into a day if you're willing to cram on the itinerary - with Dasara does Mysore become a 2 days (or more) thing ?

Dasara sounds nice, and from what I can see there aren't many other festivals in India in September. I've only got a month to visit India, I've never been to India before, and want to absorb as much as I can - any insight appreciated :)

Dasara would be celebrated from 18th to 28th September.

If you want to enjoy the festival you can do that in Gujrat where there would Garba Ras or in any of the northern states where there would be Ram Lila plays.

Neat - I've never heard of Ram Lila plays, but they look great from what Google / Wikipedia have to show - thanks very much for this :D

I'm gonna be in Deli / Haridwar / Rishikesh / Jaipur / Ajmer & possibly Varanasi (unlikely due to time) - any recommendations in regards to the play ?

Again, thanks
