Hotel Coorg International,

To walk in Coorg you should stay at the Honey Valley estate (contact numbers in the Footprint guide). The place has a very good reputation. I think the accommodation is very basic and cheap, but the estate is in one of the most unspoilt parts of Coorg.
Public transport is not too frequent and is often crowded. Also remember that there are usually no buses after 6 p.m. in most parts of Coorg.
Coorg International is in Mercara (Madikeri) which is now a crowded and smelly town best known for its trafic snarls and parking problem.
I stayed in Honey Valley this year and would highly recommend it. Beutifull location, very hospitably host and a chance to see rural side of india Lots of great walks around the coffee estates of the coorg. Great food as well
