Hello! We are planning our trip to India next March. Could somebody experienced comment on the below route? Could we somehow include Jaislamer? Or then it would be too busy? Thanks!

Day 1 Arrive Varanasi 11 am, transfer to hotel. Overnight Varanasi
Day 2 Sarnath. Overnight Varanasi
Day 3 Ramnagar fort and Chunargarh fort. Varanasi. Overnight train to Agra (18-6).
Day 4 (Book hotel in Agra to shower) Taj Mahal. Fort. Night express Agra to Jodhpur (20-5)
Day 5 Jodhpur
Day 6 Jodhpur. Bishnoi village
Day 7 Jodhpur. Osian camp. Overnight Jodhpur
Day 8 Jodhpur flight to Delhi (14-15)
Day 9 Drive to airport. Fly out 10:45 a.m.

Why so much Jodhpur?
Varanasi deserves more time.
How about Jaipur?
Forget about Jaisalmer, it's too far away for so little time.

Others will definitely tell you otherwise.

After reaching Jodhpur , day time :Local sight seeing. Take the night train and reach next day early morning (300 kms)to Jaisalmere.Need to check in a hotel.Go out to Thar desert on Camel back for sunset & Sun rise.May board the train to Delhi( no need to go to Jodhpur) or the train to Jodhpur (Night train) for a flight. Alternate: may go to Ajmere and Pushkar(12 kms) .Check in a hotel, they would arrange a desert safari and night staying.

Instead of Jaisalmer have a look at this trip to the Thar desert, organized for guests of the Durag Niwas Guesthouse in Jodhpur.

To do justice to Jaisalmer I think one would need at least 2 days. If you are spending that much time in Jodhpur you could also do a day trip to Ranakpur / Kumbhalgarh.

Thanks for comments

Thanks for comments and advices! It seems that Jodhpur - Ranakpur/Kumbhalgarh-Udaipur-Flight to Delhi could be another option for us. Would 2 days stay in Jodhpur be enough? And shall we stay in Ranakpur/K, or is it possible to drive to Udaipur through these places in one day from Jodhpur?

Wednesday, Day 4 (Book hotel in Agra to shower) Taj Mahal. Fort. Night express Agra to Jodhpur (20-5)
Thursday, Day 5 Jodhpur. Overnight Jodhpur
Friday, Day 6 Jodhpur. Overnight Jodhpur
Saturday, Day 7 To Ranakpur / Kumbhalgarh / To Udaipur
Sunday, Day 8 Udaipur
Monday, Day 9 Udaipur flight to Delhi (14-15)
Tuesady, Day 10 Drive to airport. Fly out 10:45 a.m. (I missed one day - we have 10 in total)

One more question - we have booked flight to Varanasi, and hotel there, but could you advise some reliable travel agency which could help with train tickets, drivers, etc? Thank you!
