Hi All,

I am planning to visit Vaishno Devi with my family (me, wife, daughter, father and mother).

Now my doubts are:

1. I have helicopter booking at 2:40 pm from Katra. Do I have sufficient time to be able to attend the Attka Aarti in the evening same day?

2. I tried booking Attka darshan but I am able to book for one person at one time. Is this the usual case or am I doing something wrong? How to book Aarti for all the family members at one go?

3. Where to go with the print out of Attka darshan Aarti to get good seats in Aarti?

4. How far is Gouri Bhawan from Sanjhi Chatt Helipad and how much time will it take?

5. How and where to get the room keys for Gouri Bhawan?

6. I will be reaching room in the evening but check in time is 10 am. Can they give the room to some one else- since I am reaching late? How to counter this situation?

7. Do I need to buy yatra parchi online, if I have helicopter booking and Aarti booking as well?

8. I have the return helicopter booking next day at 08:50 am. How can I manage to reach there on time if I plan to go to Bhairon Baba as well and then directly reach Sanjhi Chatt. How much time will it take to start from Gouri Bhawan and go to Bhairon Baba, have darshan there and then go Sanjhi Chatt helipad?

9. Any thing extra I need to plan, specially considering I am travelling with 3 year old daughter and 60+ parents?

Looking forward to your replies.

Thanks and Jai Mata Di

If wished, you may reach Reception counter at Katra Helipad and show them Attka Aarti Registrations. They may adjust your group in earlier sortie.

One can book 5 online Attka Aarti tickets at a time.

It is mentioned on the ticket. Please again check it.

Around three kilometer and it should take around one hour seeing the ages of your group.

Yatra parchi is not required for the devotees having Aarti booking.

You will have to start little bit early and can reach Helipad directly from Bhairon temple.

My 70+ parents are (hopefully!) going to Maa Vaishno Devi in June. I have never been there and i need help planning their trip.

1. Once they land in Sanjhi chhat, how far is the shrine? Is there some mode of travel available for them or does one have to walk only?

2. Is the walk strenuous?

3. Is there accommodation available other than the shrine board's own?

I will suggest you to take palanquin from Sanjhi Chhat to Bhawan.

There is no other accommodation available other than provided by Shrine Board.

There is raen baera (free accommodation) also available at Bhawan, where the group may take rest if an accommodation is not booked.

Please ask them to do some walking practice in the meantime. It will help them.

Saanjhi Chhat is two and a half kilometers short of the Holy Shrine of Vaishno Devi Ji and it descends from this point onwards.

Sometimes you might have to wait for it, but, palkis (palanquins) will remain available all the times.
