We are visiting Srinagar on 30th and leaving on 6th and would like to get advice from experts here about the planning. We are 7 people (4 elders (60+), 2 (30+) and 1 kid (2+)) and wouldn't want to rush to visit all but at leisure but wouldn't want to miss the best in srinagar. So, need suggestions from the experts here about what not to miss at all and how to plan. And also, heard of J&K TDC. Is it reliable to book hotels from there. Does anyone have experience on this? Also, please suggest some good hotels to stay in srinagar, pahalgam and gulmarg. Budget of hotel can't exceed 8k.

Also, is it ok to skip sonmarg if we visit gulmarg?
and, where to spend most of the time (gulmarg, pahalgam, srinagar?)?

Yes, it will be better to skip Sonmarg because it will be lot of driving to get to Sonmarg and you don't want to be rushing.

Regarding where to spend most of the time between (gulmarg, pahalgam, srinagar?) I would say that Pahalgam area (Aru valley and Betaab Valley) is the most scenic and popular area with tourists.

There is accomodation information for Pahalgam in this link:

In Srinagar, Dal lake is the centre of tourism activity and you should try a Shikara ride in the Dal lake and also try to stay in a houseboat in Dal or the less busy Nigeen lake. Srinagar is also famous for the historic Mughal gardens Shalimar, Nishat, Chashme Shahi and the new Tulip garden.
