Hello dear,

You have enough days to flexibly plan your travels. We too are travelling during the same time for 8Nights. Having done various research for the travel plan for first week of April, I would suggest to make a plan at run time, i.e. you get a better idea of what you like, how much to stay at any city. This way you are also not bind by dates or hotel cancellation policies for any changes at last moment. Weather and political conditions are totally unpredictable there. However the best suggested iternary would be 2 N Gulmarg, 4N Pahalgam & last 3N Srinagar. You can directly move to Gulmarg from Srinagar airport the distance from city is 2hrs & from airport is 1.5hrs. Evening can walk on outer circle or hire a pony(8kms scenic circle to give you complete overview of city). Can directly book gondola tickets for next day from airport. Enjoy Gondola on 2nd day. 3rd day move to pahalgam-5/6 hours(best place in kashmir). That day would have more of travel & hence check in and rest or roam around river in evening. 2 days local sightseeing. 1 day can stay at aru valley at pahalgam. Its a natural place generally covered in day sightseeing. Nothing to do much but can stay there and enjoy the natural location. Pahalgam union does not allow outside taxis. It is compulsory to use their own local taxi for sight seeing. Next day can move to srinagar via sinthan pass. Sinthan top is considered a virgin place for tourist and best in Kashmir for snow. No guides or ponnywalla to disturb. The road is newly well built and very scenic. Note : Sinthan top may be closed during that time. Need to check during that time. Next day for srinagar local sight seeing : gardens & sankracharya temple. The next day can be spared for day trip to Sonmarg(2-2.5hrs one way). Again it would be similar snow spot. But different location and different scenes. A tourist spot with many touts harassing. I'm gonna skip this spot as i will get snow at gulmarg and sinthan. The last day can be spared for houseboat stay at nageen lake. We have booked nageen beauty houseboat. Its a new one & well furnished. The reason for keeping last day or destination as Srinagar is having to reach airport atleast 2 hours prior due to very strict security check. And the roads to srinagar on last day can get jammed due to bad weather or traffic jam. Kashmir is totally unpredictable. So its always better to avoid risks.

Do let me know if any more info is required.

Maulik
