Hi there everyone!

I'm new to this site so hope I am posting this in the right spot. Thanks everyone in advance for your help!!

My partner and I started a company recently where we are selling costume jewelry on line. All of our current stock comes from Thailand but we will be heading to India for a shopping trip in early October and are looking for any advice on markets where we can buy pieces to add to our collection. We know that Jaipur is sort of the jewelry mecca of India but we are trying to figure out the specific markets we should be planning to go to. If they have websites that would be awesome but if not we'd love to find out the business hours so that we can plan our time there accordingly. We have about four days there in total.

Also looking to hire someone while there to drive us around and go to the markets with us and perhaps help us negotiate at the markets if there are language barriers - can anyone recommend a company we could book this through?

We are planning from there to go EITHER to Dehli or Goa, and then finally we will end up in Kerala where we will fly to Bangkok. Anyone have any advice on whether Dehli or Goa is the better option if we are planning to shop for costume jewelry?

Looking forward to hearing from you guys!

I would suggest you to Check out the Johari Bazar in the walled city. Most of the Gem business of the city is carried out in Johari Bazar.
you'll find all the major brands as well as small traders there
thanx and best wishes

If its sterling silver, then I would suggest that you head straight to Chameli waala market at MI Road. Most of the exporters of Jewellery are there. You will find them if you do a bit of a google search. Mostly shop timming are 1100 hrs till 1900hrs and no siesta. Johri Bazaar is a good idea too but its is mostly for gold and polishes semi precious stone retail

I would not suggest involving a taxi driver for negotiations as they (shops) might hike up their prices to accommodate commission for the driver. At shops which do whole sale exports their english would suffice you to negotiate and strike a deal
