Puppets / Dolls
Hello all!
As part of my first trip to India, I'm excited to be visiting Jaipur. I have read many wonderful things about Jaipur's Markets. I'm interested in finding a shop or artisan that specializes in dolls or puppets, as I am an amateur puppeteer myself. Does anyone know if there is a specific part of the city's markets I should explore for this?
Thank you!

Close to badi chaupar, as you walk towards Hawa Mahal, on the right side are a few shops that sells puppets (kathputli). Remember that they are used to seeing tourists arrive to purchase these so bargain hard. Good luck.
Apart from the location mentioned by Vaibhav you can also try the Rajasthan Emporium on MI Road. Its a government owned store so you will save yourself from the hassle of bargaining. Be aware that you are not fooled by your taxi guy into "Government Approved" emporiums which are nothing but private shops that might end up charging you a bomb.
