Our family will be visiting Rajasthan over in December and early January--can't wait! We will be in Jaipur for 4 nights including Dec 31st (New Years Eve). I've read great reviews of the Hotel Pearl Palace and I contacted them about a reservation. I received an email back saying that they do not take reservations so far out and that I should contact them 3 months before the date which in this case would be at the end of September. Does anyone have experience with this hotel? I'm worried if I wait, I still won't get a reservation and perhaps have difficulty finding anything for those dates. Am I worrying needlessly?

We have had this experience 2 years running. Each time when we re-contacted them 3 months before we were told that they were fully booked. We did get there twice to eat. The hotel looked great and we recommend the restaurant.

We finished up staying at this place http://www.umaidbhawan.com/ which was a little bit dearer than the Pearl Palace but we were very happy with it.

@Emelle, also read the posts at the bottom or the right of the page. There are other alternative options also mentioned there (especially the second link).

Pearl palace restaurant- not so great after all...

The food is average as is service ( because they are so busy from the hype) the menu is over extensive and dishes are a typical disappointment outside the indian range. There are lots of taxes added to your bill and waiters loiter for tips after bill paying!! !Decor is great.

We have stayed in Pearl Palace but found that Sunder Palace was much better. Spotless, spacious rooms and the food was fantastic. Check out the reviews on trip advisor.

pearl palace was decent enough especially for the price. We enjoyed the restaurant also. Though it is a budget place and doesnt look as good as in the pictures.
