Need to check out that app nycank. I did see some good fares and the prices were going up. I could have done better but felt the duration of my flights are great. Hopefully Qatar is going to be a good experience, this is my first.

Rock botton fares and LCC (Low Cost Carrier) comes to Trumplandia. Smoke and mirrors - Still pretty inexpensive for a penny pincher :)

$199 Each way to Dilli from Amrika

Wow Air announced a new route servicing Delhi from nine U.S. cities, starting December. Ticket prices start at $199 one-way, with a stopover in Wow's home base in Iceland. Let that sink in: One hundred and ninety nine dollars will get you to India.

Wow's new route is available from New York City (Newark), Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Detroit, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and St. Louis, and those ultra-cheap tickets are selling out quickly. There are only 4,200 of them, valid for travel between January 10 and March 31, 2019

Waiting for a $99/OW to Sunny Spain :D

Pujo+Diwali from Amrika

For a change, I looked at award travel. The cartel of AA/UA/DL offer round trip to DEL from NYC area Oct-Mid Nov for Pujo plus Diwali from 80,000-85,000 miles.

Untied has one for 85,000 miles plus tax (not much)

American has 80,000 plus flexible charges

And finally Deltoid.

80,000 plus $113

I am sure other US gateways to BOM/DEL would be the same.

How's Turkish Airlines safety record tho? They have some cheap flights from ORD to BOM.

Turkish is better all US carriers, and then some. I have flown them intra Europe, and found them to be excellent. BUT, do not depend on them for a tight connection if the connecting flight is not on the same PNR, and not TK coded. However, if you were to miss a connection in IST heading to BOM, or back to US - Life is good :D

Put a friend up at CrownPlaza for 24 hours, shop and eat till you drop :D

Ooooo. I'm so tempted!!!! £450 direct -- that would be the LOWEST price I've ever paid on all my trips from Heathrow to Delhi.... I really need to wait until tomorrow to check my balance......[shock] I wonder what will happen if I wait..

Fingers crossed you snag the deal you want!

I used to be tempted only by the cheapest fares, and direct flights, but now I look for convenient departure and arrival times first. I also prefer two shorter flights to one long direct flight, provided the stop over is not too long.

Let us know...

Ed.

PS. Beware of "Hand Luggage Only" prices which look attractive at first glance!!

[Blush] Too good to be true Ed. It was indeed hang luggage only. Damn. The other flights start at £550 which is the max I want to pay Oh well back to waiting a bit...

You know your own preferences, of course.

I don't know your travel dates, but you could fly with Emirates from Manchester on a random 6th Feb to Delhi, and return a month later for £432 including 30Kg luggage.

Stopover in Dubai makes the journey slightly longer, 12.5 hours out, 13.5 hours back, but saving a good bit of moolah!

They fly from London and Birmingham too...
