Hello,

My flight SG88 BKK-DELtonight Nov4th is delayed due to operational reasons by at least 1.5 hrs, so at best I will have 2 hrs to go from T3 to T1D and catch the following leg DEL-JLR SG2871.

I bought a through-fare, so both flights are on the same ticket. I do have check-in luggage.

Do you have any advice?

What are my rights in case I miss the connecting domestic flight?

Will Spicejet pay for hotel and put me on the next flight tomorrow? (There are no other flights today)

Or will they pay for train?

Am I entitled to reimbursement?

What should I do and what pitfalls to avoid?

What are my options?

Thank for your help!

Check the fine print on your ticket and I think you'll find that your airline says that it may get you to your destination sooner or later. Or not.
It's all part of the glamour of international travel.
My advice? Take a deep breath and look forward to your destination.
Good luck.

Delayed flight - what are my rights?

Thank you.

That article being 4.5 years old. I wonder what may have changed by now.

Air India used to put me in a hotel when something like this happened.

One or two years ago the Indian government came out with new consumer favorable regulations, and I wonder if that will affect my plight.

I thought maybe one of you would know, but I guess not.

Our resident airline expert has not seen your post.
Lord, Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill because they pissed me off.

Did you book via an agent or directly via spicejet?

Are both flights on the same booking reference ?

The reason I ask this is because some travel.agents will issue one ticket with 2 PNR's and then you many not have any rights in case of a missed connection..

However if it is all on one PNR/booking reference then see the next post.

If both of your flights are in the same PNR / booking reference

See the following link for international flights

https://www.spicejet.com/ConnectingFlightsFaq.aspx

In case of delay or cancellation of a flight operated as part of the Connecting Flights, the following shall apply:

In case of delay or cancellation of the flight at the point of origin which leads to the possibility of a missed connection at the point of transit, the Passenger shall have right to choose a refund; or a credit shell for future travel on SpiceJet; or re-booking onto an alternative SpiceJet flight at no additional cost, subject to availability.
In case of a delay or cancellation of the connecting flight at the point of transit, SpiceJet will at its discretion and subject to availability of seats, offer the Passenger the option to travel on the next SpiceJet flight

Thanks, yeah, I am happy too. Otherwise I would have been stuck for days in Delhi.
