I don't disagree with you. I've been an activist for so long regarding mixed solid wastes management, that I almost don't care any more about the public space.... for the truth of the matter is that overwhelmingly most Indians don't really care, or think that someone else should care on their behalf.

Perhaps I am wrong on that, perhaps lack of a system, of infrastructure is the culprit, but even then it may not be taken advantage of. For sure though, the first law of environmental best practices, is alternatives.

In the hills too, as we have probably mentioned before, the problem is acute. MONEY, is never the problem, APATHY, always is. Pic attached of Uttarkashi Council dumping garbage down the hillside which slips and leaches to the stream below. Unbelievable stupidity, yet the heart of the matter.

Well I can't get an image to upload from my phone to IM, must be too big and I don't know how to downsize it without a photo editor.... sorry

Quite... where is that? As we know it's a common sight in the Himalayas. At all char dhams too, where you'd be wrong to think that at least in those places there would be more of an effort made. The crying shame is that it is a relatively straightforward thing to fix..

Almora and around. Some of the most pristine places have been ruined and no one seems to bat an eyelid.
